interesting about Anna's remark about the Hypafix tape. I did a search on that product and found this website, www.vitalitymedical.com in Utah, where it suggests that one use the tape over the silicone gel-tape products for scar problems (that emerge for some of us much farther along in the healing; the dreaded hypertrophied or keloid scar. ) Many remarks have been made about the gel sheeting needing to be very airtight, and this hypafix tape sounds like the right product!!! So. I think I'll try this tape over the scar sheeting on my almost 3 year old scar and see how it goes. Seems like they are coming out with new products all the time!

Hope your itching subsides. Mine never really itched (and thus, perhaps, never healed properly and became hypertrophied, or raised and ropey). If your scar ends up a thin white line and virtually disappears, then maybe those of us who do NOT itch early on might be better off in the long run working harder to massage or treat the healing scar with more attention.

Sometimes I find that as soon as I find something to work on these pesky problems, the problem ceases to exist!! :p Hope that is the case with you and you get more comfortable. It certainly will not be tender nor itch forever!!

Be sure there isn't any infection brewing. Hot red spots, oozing anywhere that is new or icky. Always call a doctor/nurse if you are concerned.

Best wishes.
