itching from the inside

hi all my mother had a mechanical heart valve fitted almost 2 years ago,she sais she is getting alot of itching on the inside of her scars she sais it feels like ants inside her body as anybody else experienced this after there op cheers wayne,she has been to docs and they said the body is still healing,

my scars have remained itchy for years afterwards, my current scar (from a 2011VR) is still itchy from time to time ... and yes, from the inside.

can't speak of ants though

Only have had mine for 2 months, but it feels itchy from time to time. A trick that works for me is to rub it with a flat hand (easy on the scar and skin) the sensation "confuses" the nerves. Works for mild pain too.

I scratch either side of it ... seems to do the same. I usea finger and thumb combination to bridge the scar ... although many of my shirts have marks indicating how often I seem to scratch

Itching is a sign of healing. I used no perfumed soap and natural one! Perfumed soaps contain chemicals. Nivea soa for sensitive skin.

Yes! Some days more than others. I make sure to put a generous coat of moisturizer on my scars am & pm. Mostly, it's my draintube scars that itch. Occasionally I need to excuse myself from my coworkers to go have a good scratching session. I'm almost 11 months post-op.
