There are some that I would like to use a railroad spike on.
Hardly ever is a death warfarin related. In fact, many of them have their warfarin stopped for a few weeks before they die. This is because they have been falling, tumor progressed to the near-fatal state etc. But I get to know these people well since many have been to the clinic more than 50 times, so even if the warfarin is stopped a few weeks before they die I personally feel that one of our patients died.
Fortunately I have never had a child die. I think that I have taken care of 5 with mechanical valves, 1 with Kawasaki's Syndrome, 1 with Kabuki Syndrome, and 3 teen-aged girls who were using Slim Fast or Herbal Life, something for menstrual-related water retention and caffeine drinks. There was a combination of of either PPA or Pseudoephedrine with caffeine that evidently constricted their blood vessels and caused clots in their legs.
