6:39 am, power has gone down twice... wont be on long...love all of you and will see you on the flip side of Dennis....

I am so scared for you. I pray you will stay safe. I am also so scared for us. We are physically safe in Ga because we came up for a short vacation and luckily prepared before we left - just in case. I wish I was home - I'm glad I am not. Ivan brought us terrible news so I am naturally afraid of any other storm coming after Ivan - especially a category FOUR! I checked in w/nursing facility where brother is and they promise to take good care of him. This is ONLY JULY!

I cant leave my dogs here alone , I guess I am nuts.. why cant there be shelters that take pets?? I cant afford hotels... its been a very hard year.....its not in my hands anymore... love you all..

Hi Yaps

I don't blame you one bit.....I wouldn't be leaving my dogs either. I will put you in my prayers. Just spoke with Ann.....glad she's in GA.

You probably won't get this till you get power again, but you and your entire family is in my prayers.

Evelyn

Just spoke w/nurse cousin down there. She said it's due to hit shore about 3 CST. Winds at present are about 40 mph - we are about 30 miles north of the coast. Storm due to landfall at Pensacola/Mobile Bay - where Yaps is close. There is still power at home, but it will go out later today. I can still call by cell phone, hopefully. Tho with Ivan, even that was gone after about 1/2 a day after the storm passed.

Weather channal ..just said..EYE to between Pensacola and Ft. Walton Beach..(Where the strongest winds will be )and as far up to Montgomery.. .How far are you from Ft.Walton? If this is true..Yaps will be on west side of Hurricane..which will be some good news... Hope your roof stays on...Let us hear from you when this is over..Bonnie

Here I sit in the dark except for the glow from my wife's battery powered laptop. We got a sudden gust of wind around 230PM that blew chairs off our front porch and took down several Pecan limbs. Shortly after that the place went dark. Hope we get some power back soon.

Yaps, our TV channel did a story several days ago about all the Florida people coming up to Eufaula and Columbus. Many had pets and most motels were making exceptions. They interviewed one Vet in Eufaula that was offering to board any pets that came in. I know last year several stables boarded horses for Florida folks. I guess you just have to look real hard to find a place. Good luck and if you are reading this you made it through OK. Last I saw was the eye was headed East of Mobile.

May God Bless,

Danny

Unfortunately, you guys are down already, but best of luck and stay as safe as you possibly can. See ya when the world is rebuilt and running again.

God Bless You All

God Bless You All

You good folks down South are really getting pounded, I gather. Been watching on CNN and Weather Channel. Pray that you all are safe and damage will not be too bad.

Sometimes those Gulf storms bring huge rainfalls and flooding up here. I was living in western Virginia in 1969 when the remnants of Camille dropped an unbelievable 30 inches of rain in one night. Whole families in valleys were swept away in the flooding.

Anyway, that's history. Hope all our good vr.com friends and their families and neighbors are safe this evening.

I am here and still in one peice, at sunrise I will check for damages.. love the pup

Your ears must have been burning a minute ago. Hensylee and I were just talking about you. Let us know when you can.

Glad to see you are ok. Yaps. Me, too - don't know how home is, however. I spoke to cousin and nurse where brother is in assisted living. Both say that Dennis was a bit less than Ivan, but trees down, power out, same as when Ivan hit. Daughter can't go to work today (even if we were home) because everything is closed and curfews, etc. There is still rain here where we are and TV says it will be around for days (I hope not). Cousin will check out our house and let us know its condition this morning. Then we'll decide what to do next. Ft Walton is nearly directly south of me on the coast. It's about 40 mi away from my house. Destin is in my county.

We have curfews, doubt John will be going in, hes on the furthest end of Fort Morgan, building another condo... Fort Morgan always gets nasty,in bad weather... I hope your house is ok... even though he turned at the end we will have severe flooding here. Whew, though, I made it!! :p

So glad to hear everyone survived.......Yaps, I was particularly worried about you and your animals.....In New York it's going to be the ""HHH"" days ahead, but I'm sure glad we didn't have to deal with what you guys did. Henslyee, go home and release that SallySue from jail.......

See you all later, after you've cleaned up your yards. Thank God. It could have been much worse.

Ev
