Marsha,
"Snow Ice Cream'? Should I dare ask for you to explain?
lovely pictures, Freddie but glad it's in your yard and not ours. Hate that stuff, tho it is really beautiful, especially the very first one of the season.
No chance of making Snow Ice Cream. The snow is still here, but the wind has picked up and has covered the snow with leaves and lord knows what else.
Doesn't any other area of the world have snow ice cream? You get a big bowl of fresh, CLEAN snow (thus, make sure it hasn't been "tested" by dogs) and mix it with a little sugar/artificial sweetener and vanilla to taste and pour in a little milk (or half & half).
Even though homemade hand-churned ice cream was a summer treat when I was a child, having snow ice cream was wonderful. You can get homemade ice cream any time of the year, but you can't get snow ice cream very often. Particularly in Texas!
Gosh! What memories snow cream brings back to me. When I first tasted Breyer's Vanilla Bean ice cream, it reminded me of snow cream. I guess it's the pure vanilla, sugar and cream/milk taste.
I'm sorry guy's and I don't want to sound mean and ruthless, but this sounds like a poor mans ice cream.
It was just taking advantage of mother nature really. Nothing to do with social status that I know of.
These days, I will stick with the Breyers Vanilla Bean. Au naturelle est marevilleuse!
