Hi Johnny, welcome to VR.com! I'm so sorry to hear you're having to repair your valve.. sending prayers your way and wish you the best of luck with your upcoming surgery.

Hi Johnny,
Welcome to VR.com. Happy you found us and very sorry you need a re-op.

I had two OHS in four years and just want to tell you I went through the second very much easier than the first and had no 'bumps' recoverying from either. The moment I woke in CICU, right away I knew the train had not hit me quite so hard the second time. If you have had a healthy life style and exercised, that certainly should serve you well. All doctors and PA's involved in my care commented to me that my healthy lifestyle and the fact I walk most days contributed to my easier time of it.

Wishing you the very best.

Hi Johnny, Welcome, I know what a blow it can be to find out you are facing surgery again much sooner than anyone expected. My Son says that has good and bad points, good point, not as many what is it like worries ,because so much is unknown, like whats the vent feel like, how is the pain ect. because you know. The bad point is also you know which parts you weren't a fan of.
The tricky part is not only is each persons surgery experience different, but each surgery for one person can be quite different, you don't know in advance what this surgeical experience will be like. But Justin says just knowing alot of what the basics feel like and what he had to do to get home ASAP , makes it a little better.
I hope this is the last surgery you will need for a VERY very long time, if ever.

Hi Johnny. I'm so glad that you found us. Lean on us!! We're a lively bunch with a huge variety of experiences and always wanting to learn more. You will be a teacher to many of us soon because the OnX is becoming more widely used and because many of us here will be facing a re-op with our tissue valves.

I'm sorry that you have to face this journey again so soon. Just a bummer. But life is so worth it!! That you have certainly discovered since 2007! Just keep your future in mind.... keep your eyes on the prize! :D

Best wishes

Marguerite
