I have about 1 6oz glass of red wine every night. So far, so good with my INR which stabilized about 2 weeks out.

How much do folks that drink in here drink? I'm sure it's not some obscene amount, maybe a glass or two a week.
Well, despite my seeming obsession with good wines, I probably only share a couple of glasses with my beloved over a good meal on the weekends. We usually cook a really lovely meal Saturday or Sunday night, light the candles and crack open a nice bottle of red.... or white!!

I used to drink like a fish when I was in my late teens/early 20's, but I seem to have well and truly grown out of that stage and much prefer quality over quantity these days.

My other favourite is vodka & soda with FRESH lime juice, but that's generally reserved for social gatherings so I don't have that too often (..I guess I'm just not the "life of the party" that I used to be!! ..).

Ok, now I'm super jealous...

My wife and I NEVER get to "wine and dine"... EVER.

We did a few times back when we were dating and I miss that terribly. Now our lives are too hectic and out of sync with work schedules and minding the kid and time to take care of all the neccesities we barely even get time to sit down together for a meal, let alone a nice dinner....

Although, we did take the kid out to the park for lunch this afternoon, that was nice.

My "poison" of choice is Samual Adams Boston Lager. Followed by Labatt Blue.

I haven't had either in maybe three years now.

There's a local winery (we LIVE in wine country, concord grape belt all over Western New York State) that makes world class wines. If I have the chance to have a bottle over dinner, that's my beverage of preference.

Hi Bob,

Just paged up to your link from Medtronics and calcificatoin. #1 My mechanical is Medtronic. #2 Was a ripe 30 when I had it implanted. #3. 2 years after surgery I was showing calcification of the prothesis. I liked their response about the calcification in yonger patients. May be one of the reasons a tissue valve usually lasts a very short time in the younger patient. Makes complete sense. Will I stop eating dairy and taking a low dose supplement? Heck no. I have early onset RA with maybe a bit of osteo mixed in. Makes my mechanical choice more appealing. My carido informed it should last me another 15-20. By that time, I may be ready to face surgery again for one last time.
