I don't know if it is the Percocet or what but I'm pumped up to make this day better than the day before. I walk three times per day, so I plan to increase each walk by at least five minutes per walk. I also plan on taking on more calories per meal instead of pushing the plate away when I didn't quite feel like eating. I also am going to incorporate some deep-breathing exercises in addition to the normal spirometer exercises. I can't change my arrythmias, but I'm going to try to work on those things I can. Much of life is about attitude and it is time for me to kick it in the pants.

Back to my original question....is it the Percocet causing this:biggrin2:

We'll find out.

Great to hear all the positivity!! Have a popsicle to celebrate. :)

Remember - you're not sick. You're fixed. You just have a bone to heal and a heart to sort itself out a bit. Eat well, rest as much as your body tells you to, and walk walk walk.

canon, I don't think it is the percoset speaking. I think it is your attitude healing. We all have much more control over how we feel than we ever give ourselves credit for. I think that, within reason, if we want to feel better, we will. You obviously want to get better and get back to your life, and I think you will - more quickly than you might think, too.

I don’t know anything about the drug you listed, but I think you’ve got a GREAT attitude going now!!!!

That's the way to heal!

Keep up the good work!

Your attitude is great.

I think it is a combination of a lot of things. The percocet may be a small part of it. I think the positive attitude is largely you. It may also come from the relieve of the surgery being over and support from family. I was also pumped after surgery. I walked 3 times a day and increased each day. My sister was a wonderful help and support. For the most part my positive attitude stayed even after I stopped the percocet. It was so wonderful to have the surgery over with. It had been hanging over me for years. It was fantastic to feel better than I had in years.

Now that I think a bit more about this, there is one way it may be the percoset. If you were in low-grade pain, and if the pain was causing you to unconsciously compensate for the pain by reducing activity, etc., then the percoset and its reduction of the pain may have an impact on your mood. If you feel physically better, then you may also feel mentally better, allowing you to have yet another good day. I think balance may be the key. As you reduce your usage of the percoset, if timing is right, you will not lose the good feeling and will simply continue on your path to recovery.

Percocet or not, the attitude is spot on! Keep on walking and breathing. good to see you getting over some of the hurdles!
