:)8 days post-op and doing great!. I had surg. 10-20 and got home the 25th. It was great to be home. My surgeon said my repair with the robot went perfect and should last the rest of my life! Praise God! It is so good to be on the other side of the mountain. My pain has improved and have been able to decrease the pain meds some. I have an appt. with my cardiologist in town on Tuesday and we will see what he says. But, just wanted to let you all know I'm home and improving each day!

Sharlea, that is great news... glad to hear that everything went well... Get plenty of rest, and take it easy. Continue to post as you feel up to it!

I knew it would go well - October 20 is a lucky day (see my signature)!! You are really fortunate to have been able to have had the da Vinci robot!!

Thanks all of you for the good wishes!
Yes, shezagirlie, I did have my surgery in Hstn. At the Methodist Debakey Heart and Vascular Center. They took great care of me. I was very pleased with my surgeon also,
Dr. Gerald Lawrie. He is definitely one of the best for mitral valve repair. I was very lucky that I was able to get him.

Hi Sharlea,

That is just terrific news! I know you are tremendously relieved! Yes, the Texas Med Center is one of the best! Had my AVR at St. Lukes Heart Institue.

Wishing you the very best!

Great news! Hope your recovery continues to be event-free.

When you feel like it, would you consider posting more detail about your recovery after robotic surgery, maybe answer some of the questions you had beforehand?
