I was suppose to have one on May 2 with my cardiologist. But,because my mechanical valves is one of the newest valves;I also get an echo with my surgeon as well. So,we had another ECHO done on 4/19 and the results were very exciting!!!!
My surgeon personally called the Cardilogist and they reviewed it together and he saw I don't need it!

yeah!

Have you had a TEE before? I had to have my first and only one a few weeks ago, it definitely wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, the sedation worked well (though I did wake up right as they were taking it out, the nurse said I'm a light sleeper.) I would do it again without worrying, sedation is much more pleasant to come out of than general anesthesia and seems to be just as effective. Either way, nice to hear you avoided it, my cardiologist couldn't see my mitral valve well enough through the chest echo though so I'm glad we did it.
