I only remember the first three or four hours of that day before I was transported to that white-fogged world somewhere between death and dreaming.

Coming out of surgery, I was told the first words out of my mouth were, "Well... that wasn't so bad, was it?" Well, it turns out it wasn't. And today, one year later, it has turned out to be really great!

I feel ten years younger (I'm 66 ), and have experienced zero downside from the bovine aortic replacement. Most days I don't even think about it.

No pills, no warning labels, no limits. Thanks be to God and my surgical team at Florida Memorial Hospital, Ormond Beach.

Congratulations! "Almost forgot about it" remember of a Barbara Walters special on heart surgery a few months back. She was interviewing somebody (I cannot remember who) and they said that a good guideline to know when you are recovered is when you are no longer thinking about it.
