After a few years of his wanting one and me being scared to death of him riding one while on coumadin Hubby got a too good to be true deal on one this weekend and bought it with my blessing. I am not sure I will ever ride it and I am scared to death for him to, but he is so excited about it. Does anyone else out there on coumadin ride one? We have been married nearly 42 years and he will be 60 in November. he has to get his permit this week and then go buy all the good protective equipment before he rides it but I am already stressing and not sleeping well.

As I told Karlynn, go get some Harley leathers and boots, then climb aboard and be his backdoor passenger! Heck yes, let him ride. Don't let Coumadin interfere with life.

You two need to hook up with Jan and Bill and go touring whenever they are back in the states.

Ross I actually bought some Harley boots a few years ago in Pigeon Forge. Not because I planned to ever ride a Harley but because I liked them and they were a great price. He would not have bought it wthout my blessing and I hated to say no when he wanted one for so long and he was my rock after our house fire when I thought I might have a nervous break down for a while.

Congratulations to your husband on his purchase, and welcome to the Harley family!

From all of us "husbands", thank you Sue for being so understand of our urge to ride. ;):D My wife doesn't ride with me either, and has never had the desire to do so. However, I've been riding longer than we've been married so she did know what she was getting.

I'm working on that nervous breakdown pretty hard today.

wayne, we could hardly pass up this deal. A friend of ours drives a 18 wheeler and his truck broke down near La. 3100.00 for a clutch and 300 miles down the road his actuator went out, 5100.00. He was maxed out on his credit cards and he called the Harley dealer to see what they would give him for his 2001 Harley Road King classic with 22,000 miles and all customized. They said 7000.00 and when he got back to Gerogia he drove up in our yard and said if your wife will let you have it its yours for 7000.00. he would rather sell it to us then give it to the Harley dealer. Hubbys eyes were twinkling and grin was so wide he couldn't wipe it off I had to say okay.

Ross, I just got back to work after 11 days vacation and I am miserable. I know I should be happy to have such a good job but I am miserable here after 24 years. 13 more months before retirement.

Bina, he knows how I love to go to the casino and he has already said if I will ride the Harley he will take me next weekend. I am such a wuss though. My grandkids already teasing me and calling me Biker Mawmaw.

Hank, I held out for as long as I could. I just know how bad he wanted one and I knew he wouldn't buy one until I gave him my blessing. Not that I won't worry about him everytime he is on it.

We LOVE our Harley! My DH is the "driver", we ride 2 up. It's our best couples time. Go ride with him. Find some cool short rides to get used to it and go have fun!

Thanks Karlynn. We live in the country. Maybe I will try a short ride. I know we like to fish together so maybe this will work out also. I just have to get my courage up. One of his friends already suggested we go riding with him and his wife. My daughter told me I better ride with him or he might find him a young biker chick. I told her then I get to find me a young pool boy.

How coincidental, I just happen to be a pool boy.

I like the way you think! Pool boy!

Like Ross always says, "This thread is nothing without pictures", so Ross old boy - where's that pic of you in your speedo....:D

Harley's are cool - my son has a couple of them. We passed by a new dealer I hadn't noticed the other day, "Horny Toad Harley"..:D I'm trying to visualize horny toads and Ross in a speedo....
