Ann,

They are forecasting rain to start this evening here and all day Saturday. Gonna make for a wet family reunion next door tomorrow. If we get any wind, I'll be picking up PeCan tree (that's PEE CAN here in Georgia :D ) limbs all next week. Yuck!!!!!

Hopefully we will all be spared this year. Keep everything crossed.

May God Bless,

Danny

Dang right, it's PEE CAN. No other proper way to pronounce it. Hope the crop is ok this year. Last year the pecans all blew away! Sad for us. We still have some in the freezer from the year before.

No rain so far, but they've upgraded landfall to 2 pm saturday. It's moving fairly rapidly north, zagged a bit east, but they think it will zag right back towards the west and fall right on Yaps (Mobile). We will have flooding rains when it finally arrives. Winds have been somewhat breezy off and on today - that's how these storms act. Breeze and rain, then fair, then breezes and rain as it approaches land. I saw Haulover Beach in North Miami where I used to go when I was a kid and the winds were blowing very hard. That's clear across the state! Twin, from the looks of things, you are inundated already. Son lives in Bradenton and he told me about last week's rains - a month's worth in a week. We lived in Arcadia for 20+ yrs.

The 4 p,m. (CST) report said it's already 65-60 mph and at 75 it's officially a hurricane. They tell us that here in our part of Fl we will probably get 40-50 mph during landfall, but the rain is the biggest problem as of now. Unless things change and with a hurricane, they can.

We (well, daughter) has brought everything in that can be brought in. Maybe we ought to just leave it in for the summer?

Good luck to all who are in the path of the winds - or the rains. Headin your way, Danny. Get ready at your house for Sunday!

woke at 4 to rain. It's still headed for Mobile/Pensacola but is trying to break up. All of us east of Pensacola are going to get massive amounts of rain before it touches land (this afternoon or tonight), whether it breaks up or not. Guess it's book day and nap day.

Winds are about 20 so far.

At 1 pm today..Im 8 miles from Gulf Shores

They're even talking about us getting some rainfall from Arlene here in Ohio. I guess I don't have to go to Florida after all to fight hurricanes.
