For those of you who may remember, we had a dear family friend who was sitting in seat 1C of this flight. There is a video that at the bottom of this article that makes you realize how unbelievable it really is that they survived that crash. I was getting anxious just watching it. Just thought some of you might be interested in seeing this.

I'm afraid to watch it Kim. One of our sons and his wife were on another US Airways flight that day, headed to NY, when I saw the breaking news report on the television. We had a few moments of terror until we found out that everyone was okay and that it wasn't our son's plane. It really shook me up.

What an exceptional pilot that man is! It probably wouldn't have turned out so well if he had crash landed in one of the nearby airports. So he made the right split second call.

I've seen various shots of this landing, including some real photos. He couldn't have made a more perfect landing. If he'd of had floats on the aircraft, it would have been the worlds first Huge Float Plane.

I did not think I would be able to look at it again, but I did...thanks much...with all that we in NYC have been through....it was truly a day of miracles. The perfect landing, and exceptional rescue efforts by the NY Waterways and Coast Guard that day. Yet another day that I will not forget.
