Hey Billy,

Hey Billy,

After chatting with you this afternoon, I had to come back to this thread and read your "bit of Irish humor" I didn't think I had read it earlier.

I just wanted to tell you, I thought it was hilarious!! :) You would have loved my Irish grandfather...he was full o' B'larney too!

Dear Ross

Welcome to a great bunch of people - you'll find lots of help here! Many or most of us have replaced light bulbs. There are lots of opinions as to the best type of light bulb, but rest assured, you are among friends who have also fought off the darkness.

It's amazing, when you think about it, only a hundred years or so ago, you wouldn't have a light bulb to change, and would be doomed to lighting candles or oil lamps.
I wonder if Thomas Edison learned all about electric on the internet? I mean the internet has been around forever right?

Edison & the Internet

Silly Ross! You KNOW the internet was invented by Al Gore! Sheesh. Even I knew that!

Anecdotal evidence only, but a few weeks ago I helped a friend get the wiring fixed on some three-way switches, the first time I've ever figured out that wiring myself. I don't remember what wattage we were working with, but my INR yesterday had dropped to 1.8. I think we had some oatmeal stout before doing the wiring. There may be a connection....

Actually this thread is funny, because we have a lot of lights that I am just HOPING don't go out, because I don't know how to change them! I think it would take all of us to change some of them! :D

Hmmm.....

Hmmm.....

Ah, but if a light bulb burns out .............but no one saw it happen............. how do we actually know that one needs replacing??

:D
