Hooked on "Idol"

Okay, I admit it: I am hooked on American Idol.

As I see it, the Final Three comes down to this:

Taylor has the charisma.

Elliott has the voice.

Katharine has the looks.

When she sings the right songs for her, Katharine has the voice, too, and I can't stop picturing that face on an album cover. So my favorite is Katharine. My wife says I always like the cute girls. So be it.

My wife's favorite is Taylor.

Are you hooked on Idol, too, and do you have a choice and/or prediction?

Yes, I'm hooked also. However, my favorite- Mendessa, (sp?) was booted awhile back. Now, I'm pulling for Taylor. He's extrememly talented and I love his gray hair- you're right, he does have charisma. Also, his grandmother lives in Orange Beach Alabama, where I have some roots. No matter who wins at this point, they have all made it as far as exposure goes.

We particularly like Elliott, but we like Taylor also. Don't know how much we'll see this week. Yes, I think the exposure will do them all good. Some pretty promising careers ahead looks like to me. Now I'm off to the hospital.

Thought Chris being voted off was nuts. I really thought he'd win it all.

I'm a Taylor gal - but he just doesn't quite fit the bill for an Idol, d'ya think?

Elliott has a wonderful voice - fabulous pitch - but but but - charisma of a slug, no matter how hard he tries.

Katherine - probably the best package; thought the Elvis challenge was unfair to her. When she sings those ballads she's unstoppable. And she's just gorgeous. I guess I think she'll win, or ought to. But I'm still a Taylor fan. I like that whole quirky thing, but somehow think he's more suited to selling his cd's on late night television.

I like all three that are left but Taylor is my favorite. He cheers me up and makes my husband and me laugh out loud when he's in his groove. I've voted on two seperate times for Taylor......this participation is a bit out of character for me but I do really enjoy the show. My little grandson was a fan of Chris and he was very upset about him having to leave. His second favorite has been Taylor so that is who our family is rooting for now. I think all three will do well in their careers.

Elliot should have been voted off last week, not Chris.

Katharine is the best - best voice - best possible Idol of the three remaining.

Taylor is very entertaining though.

They will all get rich.

I was a Chris fan all the way, so it doesn't matter to me now. They all sing very well. I think Katharine would be good on broadway. None of them fit the "Idol" image. I like them all I guess. But I predict that Taylor will win.

Still like Chris the best and was a Bo fan last season!

Never have watched Law and Order in my life til now and am hooked on
"Law & Order Criminal Intent" I think that Vincent Denafrio (sp?) is a great actor!

Oh well. Not the result we had hoped for. Cindy and I were rooting for a Taylor/Elliott finale. Not excited about Katharine at all; she's just not our cup of tea. We'll be rooting for Taylor. But, wow, the margin between the final three was soooo close. Elliott should be proud.

Okay, finally watched Idol tonight. Unlike some past seasons, the 3 finalists all have a good set of pipes on them. I would have to say that I'm most impressed with Taylor in overall technique, style and personality. Wise, I kind of agree with you on the woman. Not that she's not good, but how many woman is Idol going to churn out of the same mold? I can go to iTunes right now and download CD's from 100 different women that sound just like her. Taylor and Elliot offer something different.

Taylor is a lot of good ol' boy fun and he may well get the edge on personality. Some people may be turned off by Katharine's being from a privileged Hollywood background.

Still, I think Katharine has the best voice and she's my choice. (And that's my final answer. )

I'm with Wise and Karlynn on the Katherine thing. She does have a good voice, there's no doubt, but she does get flat in the high range sometimes. It's really time for a guy to win this.

After my fave went early, I started pulling for Elliott, a guy who's faced some tremendous obstacles in life, but one who has so much class and absolutely no attitude. I'm ashamed to admit this, but I teared up last night when he left. Now I'm looking for Taylor to take this thing.

Well, as far as I'm concerned, there's no such thing as too many gorgeous women with great voices.

Carrie's still my all-time favorite from the AI shows, but Katharine is right up there.

Bob, while I am on the same page as Karlynn and Sherry, you should definitely stick with "your" girl. That's what a fan should do. I really didn't know exactly how "priviledged" she was until I heard she lived two blocks from Paula Abdul, then I thought that her parents must have quite a house; they do. That wouldn't bother me at all. It may be Katharine's delivery and style that I don't particularly like; but, that is what her fans like I'm sure.

Now, talking about Carrie Underwood; we're on the same page there. She's still my favorite. It is funny looking back on her performances and thinking that all along it was her voice that stood out on her own; Carrie couldn't dance, nor did she exhibit a commanding stage presence. She just has a magnificent set of pipes, besides being a beautiful girl. Next week during American Idol, I'll have two televisions on because the Academy of Country Music Awards will be on and Carrie is up for best new female vocalist and best female vocalist. "Jesus take the wheel" is up for best song.

Kat deserves to win

American Idol is big BIG money -- and the producers clearly wanted a male to win this time. The girls have been trouncing the boys -- so they're in danger of being out of balance as the show goes forward. I thought it was outrageous they way they made tonight's show seem like a round by round fight, with Simon declaring Taylor the "winner" at the end.

Yes, Taylor is fun but Katharine is a much, much more talented singer.

So maybe enough teary-eyed fathers like me can vote for her enough in the next three and a half hours to spoil the AI producers' coronation.

I am a Southern white guy, too, so I should like this form of affirmative action, but the LA girl deserves to win.

Elliot will always be My American Idol!

Love that man...such an underdog life. He can sing for me any day. I am pumpheaded, but I did pick up that I can't vote for him anymore ......so.....I have to pull for the sweet looking Alabama man with the gray hair. So sexy and boy , does he own the stage!!!!
So good to have something else on my mind for a change besides my heart! Go Taylor!
