Hi all.....
I am back home now....after 8 days in the hospital. Surgery went well (OnX valve and dacron graft of aorta), but developed a pneumothorax post-op which required another tube placement. Also discovered an odd arrythmia which is being followed by Elect. Phys. dept. (no A-fib though!)
All in all I am feeling pretty good now at 12 days post-op. I am able to do my walks and breathing exercises. Able to sleep well......trying to adjust to being at home all the time.
I wanted to thank all of you who were so supportive and gave good advice in my pre-surgery phase......it was very comforting.
Amy

How wonderful to hear you are home safe and sound! A couple of hiccups along the way is not that unusual, I understand, but I hope the rest of your recovery is uneventful... keep us posted on progress, won't you!

Best wishes,

Hi Amy: I really wish I had a chance to talk more than we did in the hospital. It is good to hear that you are home and getting back to the business of living. Bumps are expected and I have every confidence you will do great. Best wishes for a smooth recovery and keep me posted.

Best regards,

Thanks for the update, and glad to hear things are going well. I hope the arrhythmia turns out to be a whole lot of nothing!
