Hey, I was talking with my cousin last night about my situation and we discussed perspective. We lost his brother (age 23) in a car accident 2 years ago. . . so he can relate to the mortality issues. We were discussing not viewing life the same. I realized I will never ever look at life the same again. I liked his comment. . . when it happened it was a very busy time in my life and everything seemed to stop! Songs sounded different, I watched movies different . . . the value of things shifted! Well I see that I am late for work so got to go. Just some thoughts!

I think there are many positive things that come out of having to go through valve replacement. One of the most positive is the new appreciation for life. It sounds so trite, but it's so true.

It was Robthatsme who first brought this up years ago and since then there have been many posts about this subject and the general consensus is the same as yours. It's good that we discuss this from time to time since we have so many newcomers who may think they are the only ones who feel that way until someone brings it up again. Thank you.

It's sort of 'don't sweat t he small stuff' anymore and appreciate each day for what it is and thankful for it. So many of us do that now. Blessins.........

Sometimes I think it was God's way of slapping me up side the head and saying "wake up buttnut! Look what you are missing out on! I still need a booster slap from time to time:D  :D

Remember what I said to you in the other thread?

When it's all said and done, sit outside at the break of dawn, listen to the birds as they awake, watch the sun come up and the world around you come alive and suddenly, your know what's important to you and what isn't.
