I was referred to my breast surgeon this afternoon. My INR was 4.4 around 1:30 this afternoon. I notified his nurse of this level & she asked that I take it again tomorrow morning around 11 & then call in my results. I know that withholding a dose will reduce the level by about 50% within 24 hours. Will I see much of a drop withholding my 6 p.m. dose this evening & re-checking tomorrow morning? Also, what do you think the highest possible INR level would be acceptable for a breast biopsy? I have a mechanical aortic valve.
