Higher Blood Pressure this week.

I finished my amiodarone this weekend and I've been having an elevated BP since about Monday. Usually my BP is in the 120's over 70's, but for the past few days it's been high, 150's over 100 sometimes and sometimes my pulse is elevated. I almost went to the ER Monday night when it went into the 180's over 100, but my cardiologist's office called me back and said I would be fine. I have my scheduled cardio checkup tomorrow morning, but I was wondering if coming off of the amio could be the cause of this. Aside from this, I feel great. No deep chest pains (only occasional sternum pains), no light-headedness, nothing. Any thoughts on this?

Any chance you're retaining fluid? That will cause an increase in BP and heart rate.

The Amiodarone stays in your system for quite a while, and I would not be comfortable with that high BP so soon after surgery.
