Hi again everyone ~ I'm back! I was sound asleep when two very nice policemen appeared at my door to see if i was okay. Norma was concerned because my phone was busy, so she had them check on me. That was so nice of her! She has become such a good friend of mine, as have all of you. I have lots of music downloaded on Limewire, so i listen to that on the computer and i only have dial-up, so my phone line is busy. I should say intend to listen to it, since every day as soon as my aide leaves i turn it on and then go immediately to sleep, and i sleep the whole day away. I've been doing a nebulizer treatment every evening with Albuterol and some other medicine. My nurse said the Albuterol acts like a stimulant and is like drinking 5-6 cups of black coffee. It's cleared up the bronchitis, but i shake after i do the treatment and my heart races for hours. It said right on the warnings that came with it to use with caution if you have any sort of heart trouble. My cardiologist said it was okay to take though. Because of this medicine i am staying awake all night long and sleeping days. My schedule is so goofed up. My nurse said i can quit the treatment tomorrow.

I'm sorry i've been gone so long. Between my computer being down for several weeks and having a bad case of viral bronchitis, i haven't been able to come here. My aide didn't mean to give me the bronchitis. She went to the emergency room herself and the doctor told her not to come in. The agency made her as they don't have many aides that will work nights and weekends. At first, also, she didn't even realize she was coming down with it, as she is a two pack a day smoker and she has a smoker's cough. She thought at first that she had just smoked too much. The agency shouldn't have sent her in though when the doctor told her not to come. She also had to go in for a quadriplegic with lungs worse than mine and an older lady with really severe heart disease and COPD.

Thank you for all your prayers. It was really scary when i choked on the phlegm and passed out. I had so much in my throat that i couldn't breathe. I remember my aide calling 911 and then i passed out. At least she had the sense to keep me sitting up and leaning forward so i didn't aspirate it. I guess maybe the cardiac surgeon i had was right that i, more than likely, wouldn't get off the ventilator if i had the valve replacement surgery as i wouldn't be able to cough to clear my lungs.

Well, i have to go and get something to eat and do the breathing treatment now that i'm awake.

Tomorrow (or Tuesday depending if i sleep all day again tomorrow because of the Albuterol), i will be back posting regularly. I am SO glad it's the last treatment. I needed it though because before i did it i was coughing non-stop morning and night.

I hope you've all been doing good and i'll be back posting all the time soon. Thank you again for all your prayers!

I know I speak for us all when I say I am relieved to hear from you and glad
that the bronchitis is better. Hopefully when you stop the albuterol you
will go back to your normal sleep cycle. Wishing you the best-Dina

I am so glad you are OK...and getting over the Bronchitis too...hope your sleeping schedule gets back to normal real soon too!.

glad to see your better, the albuterol sure can give you the shakes, and yes it does speed up the old heart. I have asthma that kicks up when I have any type of chest congestion. (got me in the hospital twice now) So hang in there!!

well, there you are. Ross had the dogs ready to send out hunting you. It's good to know you are ok. I can understand the albuterol. It makes you shake and the heart runs - and bp rises, I guess. Take care of yourself and keep us in the loop.
