Wow! Faye is one stubborn storm. It practically parked itself in our area. When it did move again, it was very slooooooowly.
We have had slightly more than 6 inches of rain at my house. I know other parts of town had more.

About 80,000 people were without power for several hours. My power was off for a short 45 minutes. I bought a generator four years ago but so far have not had to use it. It is still brand new.

There was flooding in Jacksonville, and several trees had blown down on top of homes and roads. Many of the bridges were shut down because of the winds. The blasted storm put me behind, oh well. I could not go to work for the past two days. I did some work from home but there was some thngs I could not do at home. I will be going in on Sunday to play catch up.

One young woman lost her life on Thursday at the beach. She went into the rough surf at Jacksonville Beach. No idea what she was thinking. She was rescued but died later at the hospital.

I sure hope it looses its punch before it hits hensylee. The Florida panhandle has had more than its share of hurricanes and storms.

we seem to have misplaced a tropical storm. at our house, we had sand bags ready and are always prepared with the rest of it and we sat --- and we sat --- and sat some more -----......... We got a little bit of rain and our pines had some movement at their very tops. That's all. We escaped by the skin of our teeth, apparently. Thank you, God.

That is really good news, Ann. Are you sure it is out of your area already? I know we were still getting heavy rain today. My county and Duval County (Jacksonville) had Tornado Warnings . We also thought Fay was gonna miss us, but it turns out it just was moving veeerrryyy slowly. Went out today for a drive and saw alot of water in places that are normally dry, and quite a few trees down. Hopefully it stays away from your area, because this storm has really been a pain!

nope - just not in our cards. we landed in that dry loop. they have said dry air pushed in from the west and broke it up and the main part just went on up into Ga and parts of alabama. Our sun is coming out. We might get some rain but all looks really clear out there.

Now we have to empty sandbags!

I don't think anyone could decide what Fay was going to do or not do. We are still getting tropical moisture off the gulf from her and we are in South Orlando!

got up to rain and a little thunder. It's the last of the outer bands that have finally got to our house. Weather guy says every inch of Florida has been touched by Fay.
