Tell hubby that it sucks to be him, but too bad. This is what has to be done before the colonoscopy. No one likes it, but it's a must.

Freddie,
My hubby is a meat and potatoes guy too and managed to survive on a day and a half before his colonoscopy on a diet of gingerale, chicken/beef broth and jello (this was two weeks ago). He was surprised that he wasn't as hungry as he thought he would be. I think the trick is to stay 'full' on the fluids.

Good luck!

shhhh, he's sleeping.

Yesterday was a "self pity" day. He let himself get hungry. Didn't help when the kid brought A&W home which I made him eat it in his room.

As far as the exam itself, everything looks good..no need to worry, but now the doc wants to check out his gallbladder....oh joys. I still believe it was all the yogurt he was eating that was causing all his stomach pain, much like what Zipper2 experienced a while back. Now that he has stopped eating gallons of yogurt, most of the stomach discomfort/pain is gone.

Quiet now....he's had a hard day. First time he's ever had to be sedated.

Okay, I am whispering.....never wake up cranky men......anyway, glad he is okay....tell him to stop bingeing on yogurt.....too much of anything is NOT good (including sex), did I tell you about the time that I almost died?.....;)
To check the gall bladder it will be an ultrasound, no big deal.

He's already had an ultra sound, the doc want to do a gyroscopic (?) - shoot some die into you, make 2 or 3 holes and take a peek. Crap even writing this doesn't make sense. But he's had an ultra sound already and didn't see anything. There is some "other" test to check out the gall bladder.

He's awake now and happy after having 2 grilled cheese sandwiches, lettuce and cucumbers....and of course jello - which I made and it worked LOL

All the best with the upcoming gallbladder test, keep us posted

Glad your jello turned out Freddie its better than yogurt;)

I had one of those gallbladder tests the day before they removed my GB. They give you an IV radioactive dye and a trigger drug, then watch to see if, when the drug makes the gall bladder dump, it causes/reproduces your pain.
Great fun.

Otherwise, it sounds like they want to do a laparoscopy exploratory??? Holes in belly filled with gas, and anesthesia, he may as well have the danged thing removed at the same time!

Thanks Laurie, I think you nailed it. There's no other test left to do.
