I am 8 weeks post-op. A couple of weeks ago, I had a bout of a-fib., which is controlled by amiodarone and metropolol.

Understandably, I have become a bit neurotic about my heart rate. I bought myself one of those gizmos that give you your oxygen and heart rate.

I noticed that at rest, my heart rate is in the 70s. If I rush about just the least little bit, the rate rises to high 80s/early 90s. I also feel a bit short of breath when I push myself.

Is that normal at this point of recovery? Have any of you had similar situations? I am a Type "A" personality, and do tend to rush around, and become overly anxious, but I am still concerned.

I'm the same way that you are, Type "A", always something to do, and never enough time to do it in.. Rushing about, etc..

The rates that you quote, are the same as mine have been. I am 2 1/2 months post op.. At rest, I was high 70's, and just getting up to walk to the kitchen, I was up into the 90's.. Mine has gotten a bit better the last few weeks, but is still in the low 70's at rest.. I dont take anything other than asprin, and vitamin, on a regular basis.

I'm only taking 25mg per day now, so not that much. What does cardio 2 entail? I'm 5 weeks post op today and the only cardio I do is walking, I'm curious if I should be doing more?
