Based on where the NZ (4.7) was and where Auckland is, I am sure they felt it pretty good. They might have also felt the 7.9 one in Tonga (despite the 1300 mile distance) since there is only water between. They were probably far enough away not to have actual damage but I am sure it was, at best, interesting and, at worst, scary.

We only heard about the quake on the news.We didnt feel al thing !!!
We are having a wonderful time here. We sent some photos through to Ross to resize, as we are both rather clueless about that sort of thing.
Ernies party was a great success, it was an African themed party.
We have met a lot of people and been on a Harbour Cruise,to the Viaduct Basin, ( where the yachts were moored for the Americas Cup) Up the Skytower to the viewing platform, to a fashion show, on a ride on a carriage pulled by Clydesdale horses, to the beach, to see the Gannet Colony, and to the Memorial for ANZAC Day.
Wendy & Ernie live in a very nice suburb with sea views.
We still have almost a month left with still so much to do.
As soon as we can post photos we will.
