Happy Fourth of July; ready for surgery

Friends,
I have taken all of your words of wisdom "to heart" and have thoroughly enjoyed my family and being at the lake. I went into Austin today and met with my anesthesiologist-everyone at Seton Medical Center in Austin was wonderful; very informative, personable and professional. They answered every remaining question I had, and I feel much more prepared for what I am up against. Surgery is scheduled for 11:00 on July 5th. I am very confident about the abilities of my surgeon! Here goes!

Surgery Update

Surgery Update

Hello all,

This is Terry's son, Brett. Surgery went great. Dr. Oswalt did a wonderful job. There was a minor complication right after surgery. Her heart had not found her "rhythm" right afterwards, and there were thoughts of a pacemaker. However, about 30 minutes to an hour afterwards, her heart was back to its usual self. The doctor said she had a nice "thick heart and valve", and that it went absolutely great. Thank you all so much for all of your support. She talked and talked about all the great friends she had made on here and I know you were a driving force in getting her through this. In no time she will be back on here helping others cope with it.
