Turned 55 yesterday - best birthday since my 21st! Because that's why I'm retiring this week. Friday's my last day. Then I'll have lots of time to devote to important things - like keeping up with vr.com, etc. And gardening (or engineering the gardener - my hubby). And cleaning out the solid waste dumps that we call "spare bedrooms". I've worked here at Horace Mann for 22 years, and I'm not even ambivalent about leaving - just glad to go.

Had an interesting birthday yesterday - spent a good part of the evening in my daughter's basement with the grandkids and my mom and husband due to tornado warnings. Great excitement, fortunately we lucked out and no damage.

So thanks very much for the birthday wishes; and happy birthday to you, Mark.

Georgia I'm glad you had a great birthday and hope you have many,many more. I'm also glad you are getting to retire and spend some time with your family. I thought I would miss working since I've worked since I was 16 years old but I don't miss it at all. I miss some of the people and I'm still in contact with some of them but some of them I don't miss at all. (especially my boss!)
