Yesterday was the 60th anniversary of Jackie Robinson's debut as a Brooklyn Dodger. I can't imagine how hard it must have been for Mr. Robinson to walk out onto the field that day, but he did, and the game was changed for the better.
I was happy to read that ALL St. Louis Cardinals (suited up for the game) wore #42 (Mr. Robinson's number). I would have been very disappointed if they hadn't (I know, would they have cared if I was disappointed?
I hope so!
)
Albert Pujols seems to have hit his stride, always a good thing, and put last season's issues out of his mind.
I am also hopeful that manager Tony LaRuso is ready for the season and will be able to manage his terrific team of players. Maybe they will repeat as World champions; maybe not. They always have the potential, so if not this season, maybe next. They are "my team"!
Play Ball!
