Thanks, Ross- going to forward it to my grandaughters- never too young to learn geography. My 6 year old bought an atlas when she was visiting her aunt in Boston and they visited MIT. She loves studying it!

This was fun. Score:82% (41 out of 50), average error = 43 miles. They are very picky and I was actually embarassed by a couple of my choices. :D ;)

Maybe I should've waited until I'd had my morning coffee!! Of course, for me, Oregon was the first state! But I was so into the shape thing that I didn't realize that they identify the state for you before you put it into place!! Who knew what Nebraska looked like!! Once I realized the states were ID'd it was beter, but STILL tough! Yes, Mary....I could not place Rhode Island either!!

Score 90%. Avg error 38. Time 568 seconds.

My husband and oldest son will love this!! They're geography buffs! Is there one about State Capitols?? :D

I wound up with a 90% and average error of 23 miles. I had trouble getting some of the midwestern states close enough when the center of the country was still empty. I didn't mis any of theme completely, but they were offset some.

It was fun, and I'm going to try it again later. Does it mix up the states or always do them in the same order?

Best wishes

That was fun! I got a 92% with an average error of 19 miles in 631 seconds. Thanks for posting this one, Ross!:)

I've had my Atlas out eyeballing where Colorado is in location to the bottom of Lake Michigan. I thought it was further north than it is.
It made me wonder if Rain has fairly mild winters in Cortez?

Geography

I know there are the lower 48 states wedged between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, south of Canada and north of Mexico after this I am lost. It should be pretty easy for most of our US members? :)

72% right - they don't tell you that you have to color within the lines. an nth off and they count you wrong! But I will do it again. I love jigsaws and geography. I learned all the capitols all over again when my son was in grade school. I could have taken his test for him. But they wouldn't let me.

96% and avg error was 8 miles

I have to admit though -- seen this before and practiced many times

Funny, I did too when my kids were in grade school and have never forgotten them! Wonder if they remember them too or will have to learn them all over again when their kids learn them!:D

Thanks Ross,
That is rather cool.
I will have to share it with my son.

I got 94% 12 miles in 225 seconds for the US. Trying to place the states in the middle of the US with no frame of reference was hard.

The world was too easy, I thought they would have you place all of the countries, that would have been fun, they just made you place the continents and oceans.

For S. America I got 95% 32 miles and 72 seconds. I missed Belize.

I will have to try the others later when I have more time, right now I am supposed to be working.
