Gisele's Update

Hi, this is Monique, Gisele's daughter. I just saw my mom today and she looks great! Her surgery was yesterday (Tues.), it took about 51/2 hours. They found a small clot in her valve, so it's a good thing they had her surgery when they did.
They used the cow valve instead of the pig valve beacuse it is stronger and should last longer.
Last night she was out of it, but when we came in this morning she was sitting up, talking, and eating. I'm very proud of my mum! She's doing awesome! I will be posting here for her until she gets back, so if you have any questions, just let me know.

Thanks Monique - I'm SO Glad to hear about your Mom. I've had her on my mind for days - I'm so glad to hear that she's sitting up - talking and I'm sure she was extremely HAPPY to see you. YES!!!! I've been sitting here biting my fingernails and worrying about her. I'm so very happy to know she made it through o.k. and that the clotted valve is no longer in there. We were so afraid of that happening. You have no idea how happy I am that it didn't come off of the valve.

She is an exceptional woman and I'm darn glad I've had the chance to share part of my life with her, as I am with all of you.

I know she's not out of the woods yet, but she is well on her way. Give her a hug for me and give dad one too, but don't tell him it's from me.

I am so, so happy to hear the good news of your mom. I hope this is the beginning of some happy times for her. She deserves some breaks.

Imagine that about the clot on her valve. She dodged a great BIG bullet there. Thank God she had surgery when she did
