I just saw that and I am sitting here in shock! Reality doesn't kick in until something happens. I still see him as the young Gilligan. How very sad, the only ones left are Ginger, Maryann and the Professor. I watched that show religously when I was a kid. It was in re-runs then and still watch it now. It's one of those shows that is just as good now as it was when it was new.

He will be missed.

Kind of funny how you think of these people. I met Alan Hale, The Skipper, and he was a complete jerk. I had idolized the guy right up until then.

I'm old enough that to me he will always be Maynard G. Krebbs - I loved watching Dobie Gillis- true classic TV.
May he rest in peace.

That sucks that he was a jerk. I guess that is one time when it would have been better to not have met him, at least then you get to have whatever image of him you wanted.

I have always wanted to meet celebrities but that would probably happen to me, too. At least they look like nice people when they are on tv.

Some things(people) are better left unknown.

I googled and saw that he had a Quadruple bypass in May..but, died from complications of cancer? I read somewhere that he had a radio show in his hometown in West Virginia..Out of his home?..Bonnie
