Getting Wired

Hi all, im one of the skinny ones who gets pain from my wires. I can especially feel the top few. It is quite a sharp pain when i rub my finger over that particular place on my scar. Also when my hubby hugs me to hard or if its cold i feel discomfort.
I once made a security device go iff in a shop. i had nothing on me that had any metal in it at all so im guessing it had to be my wires. It also happened again a few weeks ago when i visited my dad at work(the court house), the guards found it quite entertaining!!
I had had a magnet stick to the wire that is at the top of my scar...im quite thin so you can actually see the wire at this part of my chest.

About half the time I go through the metal detector at the airport my sternum wires set it off. It's a little bothersome because then I have to undergo a personal examination with that wand thing. Once they pinpoint the offending metal in my chest area, I show them the scar and explain to them about the sternum wires. Everyone has always been very apologetic.

It's just wierd that my wires only set them off about half the time. Maybe some are more sensitive than others? Who knows?

One other wire related story. A week or two after an echo, I developed a sore bump underneath my scar. I went to my cardiologist and he told me it was a cyst and hypothesized that the echo thing that they push against your chest moved one of my wires causing the cyst. The cyst went away about a week later. Silly wires!
