Hi everyone,
My husband and I leave tomorrow morning for Mayo Clinic. I can't believe it's happening aleady!! I will have the battery of tests all day on Tuesday and then mitral valve replacement on Wednesday.
I am feeling surprisingly calm right now, that might change once we hit the road. I just want to be done with this, for the rest of my life. No more surgeries. I pray to God this is it.
I don't think I can even begin to tell you all how much this site has helped me through the last six weeks. When I had my first replacement surgery at ten yrs., it really felt like I was the only one. I never had anyone to talk to that was just like me, and knew what it felt like to go through something like that. This time, it has been so much easier because of all of you. I can have questions answered immediately and talking with those of you that have recently had surgery (Bill, Jacque, Lee, Bryan, Kathy H, etc.) has helped me to prepare. I now know that there are people out there just like me all over the world, from Australia to Israel to Ireland.
I will probably send a little post on Monday or Tuesday before I go in. My husband or sister will let you all know how the surgery went. This web site is wonderful. Thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart!
And Good Luck to Daniel, April, and Ronda! I will say a prayer for you.
