It's pretty long this time around because I had about a 6 inch scar from my original Ross then I had another 2.5 inch scar just below that from a pericardial window. So this time around they went from about a 1/2 inch above my original scar all the way down to the bottom of my window scar. The top is pulled together by a butterfly stitch where the top knot came undone leaving about a dime sized hole in the top of my incision. Also a lot of irritation next to the top from having bandades across it. Oh well, I'm alive!

Wow....that is one wicked looking scar!
I also had the never healing bit at the top. It literally took almost 2 yrs before it was safely sealed over.
I'm still very careful with it, no itchy fabrics, no smelly creams either.

It looks like, for the most part, it's healing pretty well. But I do have to say - it gave me a PTSD reaction because mine looked pretty identical to yours. Blow-hole scars (where the tubes were) and all.

I think it looks just great especially considering what you have been through. Hang in there, give yourself extra rest time to heal-up. My valve is a little on the noisy side but doesn't bother me, my wife or the dog, I hope yours is as quiet as silk.

Peace, love and Irish clover.

Whew, you look like the end result of a run in with somebody with a chain saw. You are really going to have something to show off at the beach. Congrats on getting it over with and hopefully it will heal over okay. And congrats on making it in a a member of the elite TOOTS, an organization that has a pretty stiff entrance requirement, but once you're in, you're a member for life.

I guess the main thing is what ever didn't work inside your heart

we had to sew aprons well mine was a chef hat,but i sure could cook

therefore i wore my apron on my head:p:D
