Lettitia,
I'm 57 and have had high bp since I was 30 with no weight issues or lifestyle issues. Before my mvp, my bp was under control, but I'm having trouble getting it under control now. I had a pacemaker implanted a few weeks ago and now it's REALLY out of control. I take 200mg metoprolol, 40 mg Lasix and 320 mg Diovan in the morning and another 160 mg Diovan at night. It makes sense to take the highest dose in the morning. Before I had the pacemaker I was doing much better. Obviously my pacemaker needs fine tuning. It's frustrating to have hbp like this, isn't it? :( It's not like you can quit smoking or lose a few pounds. You just have to keep trying to find the right mix of meds. Relaxing will probably help, but not enough.
Good luck and keep us all posted.

HighBP is frustratingbut when you add in elevated blood sugar and my very nasty polycystic ovary syndrome which, makes losing weight and then keeping the weight off very difficult! Sometimes I just feel like I have been defective from the point of my conception. So I totally understand the frustration anyone feels over highBP. It is probably similar to the frustratration I felt when trying to get pregnant.
