Freddie:
I poke myself just about anytime -- right when I get up, before going to bed, during the afternoon, while at work ...
That's what I love about having my own tester. I have taken my tester to work and taken it to the women's room. Most who come in while I testing think I'm a diabetic. I have also tested while at my desk a few times. What with partitions between desks, no one can tell that I'm a pricker.
Speaking of testing, many doctors want warfarin patients to take their tablets at night, so that if an INR test earlier in the day indicates need for dosage change, the dosage can be altered the same day. My thoughts: It takes a while for dosage change to show results in the INR, what difference does it make when you take your meds or when you test?
I take my rat poison at breakfast and usually test later in the day. Any dosage change comes at breakfast the next day.
