I'd say get the Flu shot. I've been getting flu shots for at least 5 years now. The only time I ever had a reaction was when I had it done at work last year. The next day I left for the Vegas VR.com reunion and my arm hurt and was real hot to the touch. It simmered down after a couple of days. My INR was on the high side previous to getting the flu shot and going to Vegas. I ate a lot of salads at the reunion to help bring it down, so I don't know if it affected my INR or not. My INR was in normal range when Hank took it at our reunion dinner.

I also have had an pnuemonia shot. Terry, you said it needs a booster now? When I got the pnuemonia shot 4 years ago my doctor said I would only have to get another one if a new strain comes out. Is that was the booster is for? I never had a reaction from the pnuemonia shot.

Routine revaccination is not recommended except under certain circumstances. Revaccination is recommended for children and adults at highest risk for fatal infection and for those shown to have had a rapid decline in pneumococcal antibody levels (such as: patients with nephrotic syndrome, renal failure or transplant recipients). Ask your physician if revaccination is appropriate for you2

Ross, I hate to disagree with you because you know so much, but there is nothing wrong with the flu shot every year. It does prevent the person from getting seriously sick from then flu, but does not prevent one from contracting the flu. It just keep you from being in bed too long. I had the flu once without the shot as a teen and was sick for three weeks. So please, everyone, get the flu and if you haven't done it yet, get the phnuemonia shot also. Take care.
