I am not going to have to worry about INR & flu shot because there is no vaccine where I live. Even the county has none. I saw some news programs and it appears that they were giving flu shots to anyone who said they were high risk thus the quick disappearance.
I guess I will be hiding out, washing my hands a lot and wearing a face mask when I go out until more shows up if ever. If not, I will envoke all of your prayers and best wishes to get me through the flu season.
Take care,
Gina

Reunion

I arrived in Golden about 3:30 Fri PM. The weather had deteriorated from nice to a cold mist. Most of the people had gone to tour Coors brewery. I visited with Dave and Marsha, Cort and Janie until others arrived. I think that there were 37 at the dinner. The food was excellent, the view of Clear Creek from the dining room was nice except that it was dark. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. I left at 10PM because I had to drive back home. I think that the weather cleared on Saturday but I don't know for sure. It was 80 where I live on Friday and in the 50s in Golden which is only 120 miles away.

Found my flu shot....

Found my flu shot....

Thanks for the replies. Through vagaries wrought by a future daughter-in-law I was able to get a flu shot and a $40 parking ticket this morning. I am happy about one of them. My cardiologist's office says not to worry about my pt rising because of the shot although it was high (4.2) on Friday and he had me skip a dose and return to the 12.5mg/day regimen and test again this coming Friday.

Question for Al Lodwick:

What would you think about cutting back on my Coumadin by 10 to 25% for a day or two after getting my FLU shot?

I lucked out, dropped by store that started giving out 500 shots at 8:00 and they still had 150 shots left at 9:30 when I got there. 30 minutes later I had my shot! :) :)
Some people had been there since 4 AM!

You could do that but it is probably not necessary since the effect is very short. I'd almost always rather the INR was high than low.

I'm on a priority list to get one at our hospital. However, the other hospital in town got no vaccine. I'm worried that we will be the last ones standing and get worked to death.
