Hi Phyllis,
You'll be in my prayers. I just had a close friend go through the same treatment.
She is doing well and celebrated her last treatment a few weeks ago.:) I know you'll do fine, and your family is there for you(keeping you busy). God Bless!!!

Thinking of you

Thinking of you

That sounds like some heavy duty treatment.. five days a week. Yikes You certainly deserve a nap...or two... or even three!! :)

I'm sending you lots of positive vibes from out here in Colorado.

Somehow I missed this earlier. Definitely sending good thoughts your way. Gives me a reminder that I need to schedule my mammogram.

Hi Phyllis, I was thinking of you today, I hope your treatments are going as well as can be expected. Sending warm hugs to you. :)

Thoughts and prayers are with you. I hope you enjoy your family while they are there and let them help you while you take a a good earned snooze!

So far, so good. It's early in the treatment, but no side effects yet, and my treatments are going well- in and out in 15 minutes and first thing in the morning lets me get on with my day. We are enjoying the kids and yes, I am taking my daily naps and learning to pace myself and let the kids do more. Thanks again for your concern and support.

Phillis,

I'd be interested in knowing what your Doctor and Nurse had to say about 'side effects' of your radiation treatments.

As I recall, I got tired after mine (more so later in the treatment) and didn't feel like eating. I scheduled my treatments for late in the afternoon (after work) and ate a Big Lunch ahead of time.

Al, the two major side effects would be getting tired and sunburn effect and or rash on the breast being treated and those are usually further into the treatment (week 3 or so). I am religiously using the cream they gave me for the breast in hopes of preventing any bad rash there. Some come through this with just a mild sunburn effect and others have a more difficult time. I have weekly blood counts, see the doctor and nurse once a week and they told me now is not the time to diet- eat a lot of protein. It hasn't effected my appetite yet. I am taking a daily nap, but it's hard to tell if that's because of the radiation or my 2 year old house guest.:D **** and I have been afternoon nappers for the last 4-5 years anyhow.

Hoping things go very well for you Phyllis :) .

Pacing yourself and taking naps sound like a good plan.
