Just to let you know that my mom died late last night. She just quit breathing in her sleep. She had been sick for many years and we recently enrolled her in hospice. She had spent nearly a month in the hospital without showing any signs of getting better and really had grown weary of this life and no longer had any desire for nourishment. She died of complications of her parkinson's disease but still managed to reach the age of 84. She is in a far better place and finally free of the body that had become a prison to her spirit. Even so, I find myself grieving and rejoicing at the same time.

I'll be off the board for a few days. Arrangements are not yet complete since today the funeral home is having the funeral for a local young soldier who was killed in Iraq. But we expect to have the funeral on Monday and fly back home sometime Tuesday.

Betty, my sincere condolences to you at the loss of your mom. That could never been easy, even when expected. Sending prayers for your comfort and strength.

Betty. Please accept my sympathy over the loss of your mother. Even though her suffering is over, I'm sure it will be a time of deep sorrow for you. I hope you will give yourself this time to grieve.

Best wishes.

Betty,
Please accept my condolences. I lost my mom under similar circumstances and, even tho I even prayed for God to take her, I was surprised at how much it hurt once she passed.
I am sure the memories will get you through this tough time. Please take care.

Betty,
I'm so sorry you are struggling right now. I know when my mama passed away after a long, long battle with breast cancer, I had such mixed emotions. So happy she wasn't suffering anymore, yet mourned so deeply - for me and my family and our terrific loss. I still miss her today and it has been 9 years. It will get better. I promise.

Betty -

You have my deepest sympathies on the loss of your mother. Oh my goodness, can you imagine how blissfully happy your mother is now - in the everlasting arms of God, in a new perfect body.

May God give you His peace. I'm so sorry for you - you will miss your mother so much (I know personally how hard it is), but please remember that God blessed her with 84 years, but she was obviously tired and she was ready to go "home."
