Finally had our youngest two kids screened and they are clear of any valvular disease. So really just our oldest is followed annually and listed as moderate. Our third shows evidence of the gene but is functionally normal (minor partial fusion of two leaflets, but still has a tricuspid valve). Check up every five years or so. Three of five are normal. So that’s a relief. And zero present like I did, so that’s a big relief.

Hopefully a lot more advances come about before our oldest needs any intervention.

This is interesting. My doc thinks my last echo showed a mild apical systolic cavity obliteration and was curious if I have had family members drop dead. He also thinks I have a genetic bicuspid valve but I think it is more cusp fusion from RHD.

Maybe one day we will take dates for genetic testing before we waste any more time with them ;)
