morning for IV heparin and then mitral valve surgery and Maze procedure on Friday.
The family had a lovely dinner tonight to welcome my son and bride back from their honeymoon in Mexico and to send me off on my trip "over the mountain" as you all say. Don't know when I've felt worse than this afternoon; we had done some shopping and sat in the car in the heat for a short while. That really did me in!! Good thing daughter went ahead and got most of the dinner for me.
Church, family, friends and friends of friends :D are praying for me, so would appreciate any on this forum who would join in. Much thanks.
Oldest daughter has said she will get on and give you a report and I will look forward to getting on myself. Recliner-lift chair is waiting for me!! (And to think that I was going to sell it after Mom left us!! Second thoughts made me think hubby or I might need it!! :( :( :(

Saying prayers for you Barb! Know that so many are wishing you well and waiting anxiously for the good news I know we'll hear.

Barb,

You probably won't see this before your visit to CCF but I wanted to wish you Godspeed. Soon you will be back home and resting in your mom's chair. I am sure she will have her arms around you to help you through.

Take care and hope to hear a report real soon.

Hi Barb

You'll be in my prayers, too. Please let us know ASAP how it goes.

Many prayers!

Many prayers!

Sounds like you have a loving group of people there supporting you. That has to be a fantastic feeling. I will be saying a prayer for you as well. Hope all goes beautifully. My friends and family are rallying around me as I wait for my surgery. I can't imagine doing this without their love and prayers. This waiting room stuff is not for the weak at heart. So to speak! Didn't mean to pull a funny there!
Bet you are very happy to have kept that recliner. I bought the local ad bulletin and have circled ads for recliners. That is on my list of things to do tomorrow.
Keep the faith!
God Bless You!

Barb, please know that you are in my prayers as you begin your journey over the mountain. Looking forward to an update on your progress. Lucky you, not only a recliner, but one with a lift... I am jealous :D

Dear Barb - way back when we first met some years ago, who'd have dreamed we'd be here? I wish you the very, very best of successes. You will be in my prayers til you come back yourself to tell us so. Do all the resting and recuperating that is called for. You are going to be fine. I know you want this over with so that you can feel better - and better...

Love Ann

Best wishes Barb for a successful surgery and an uneventful recovery. You will feel so much better when this is all behind you and we look forward to hearing all about it. :)

Good luck Barb. You're in my prayers.
I will look for you on the other side of this.
Mary

Thanks for the prayers and good wishes

Thanks for the prayers and good wishes

Well. I've been stuck, stuck, stuck, stuck, x-rayed, EKGd, but they are still waiting for the "stat" work to come back so they can start the heparin drip. They have a computer in one of the little waiting rooms for public use. My family said, oh, oh, they'll never be able to find you in your room!

I persuaded my husband and daughter to stay home tomorrow; it's a long time sitting around and very tiring, particularly since they will be in for a long day Friday when I have the surgery. The nurse said Dr Pettersson will come in tomorrow afternoon and explain just what he is planning on doing, talk valves, etc.

Thank you again for thinking of me!! Barb

Barb, I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. I know that God will have his arms wrapped around you and will be guiding the surgeons' hands. Looking forward to hearing from you soon! Linda
