Here's the link to the latest update on CaringBridge, for those that are interested.

I just copied and pasted today's entry below, but if you want to see the rest, you can go to the link.
I'm feeling it now......this is ACTUALLY going to happen, and it's scary. No way around that. BUT, I have absolute confidence in my doctors. We do not have an actual time for surgery on the 27th, and according to the dr, we won't until probably Sunday night, when the hospital calls, and tells us when to be there.
The cardiologist thinks I should get a mechanical valve (IF the repair is not an option), which was surprising to me, given the fact that I have a history of bleeding ulcers (that required surgery), but I'll wait and see what the surgeon has to say tomorrow.
Anyway, below is today's journal entry on Caringbridge. Thanks for the prayers, good thoughts, and support from this awesome forum! Cherie
Not gonna lie. Getting kinda tired of being poked and prodded. Today, met with the electrophysiologist, and they've decided that the particular ablation that I need is best done with catheters.....in other words, NOT during my open heart surgery.
They tried to get it scheduled for tomorrow, but there was no availability. So, the plan, at this point, is for it to happen approximately five days after my surgery, while I'm still in the hospital. If, for some reason, this is not optimal, they will adjust the plan accordingly.
After that, I had my TEE (transesophageal echocardiogram). It was LONG, and somewhat uncomfortable. (I'm a gagger, what can I say). It WAS very helpful, though. Dr. Miller feels it's clearly defined as a perforation in the left cusp of my aortic valve. This is "good" news, as it makes it more likely that a repair, rather than replacement is possible. We'll know more, after I see the surgeon tomorrow. My surgeon is Hartzell Schaff, M.D. and he is one of the best in the world! We are so incredibly blessed that this has worked out for me to have these amazing doctors to take care of me (that's a shout-out to you, too, Stan!).
After the TEE, had a renal ultrasound to rule out any problem that could be causing my hypertension. None was found. It may just be that I have developed hypertension (thanks, Mom. I always blame Mom
Then, Scott and I met with Dr. Miller at the end of the day (again), to go over all the results from today, and the plan for tomorrow.
My priority right now, is to stay healthy (no cold or flu), so that surgery will happen on Monday. We don't have a time, yet, and according to Dr. Miller, probably WON'T, until Sunday night, when the hospital will call to tell me when to be there.
We both got more sleep last night, so today was better, in that regard.
Okay, that's all for now. We can feel the love & support heading our direction! Hugs! Cherie & Scott
