Cort called me tonight and asked that I pass on that they plan on eating at Mo's Pizza, 3109 Briarclift Rd NE, Atlanta sometime on August 10th. He said he would call again with the latest plans before the 10th.

To get to Mo's Pizza take Exit 91 (Clairmont Rd NE--US 23//GA-155). Heading North turn right, heading South turn left. Turn left on Briarclift Rd NE. Mo's will be right there (been there once, can't remember if it is on the left or right)

Hope to see y'all there. If Bubba can brave a trip through Atlanta during a week day y'all had better be there . I'll be the gray haired guy in the left lane with my left blinker on. Look out when I get to the exit. Oh wait, that is just normal Atlanta traffic.

Got off the phone with Cort a little while ago. The plan is still Mo's Pizza on Briarcliff. Several of his car crowd are planning on meeting him there. He is planning on calling me Wednesday morning to give us an idea when he will be arriving. What, does he expect a police escort?????? Hum!!!!!!! If I could pull it off I would .

We plan on leaving on Wednesday morning heading to Atlanta and I will be unable to post updates here. Anyone interested in meeting Cort, me (and my wife), Bonnie????, and other VR.COM family send me your Cell Phone # via PM (I promise I won't post them on Google ) and I will try to contact everyone when we know a time. Hope to see some (IF NOT ALL--you know who you are ) of the VR.COM Atlanta group there. See you Wednesday.

My wife and I would love to have met you and to see Cort again, but we'll be coming to Georgia on Thursday and getting to Atlanta Thursday night. My step-daughter and her family live in Conyers. Of course, we're going to see the grandchildren! Hope you guys have a good time.

WHAT???? You wouldn't even make the trip to see ME????????? Can't really blame you though, I avoid Atlanta as much as possible, and my sister lives there (just off Clairmont NE) . Driving through Atlanta is a FUN experience every time especially when you get to that I-75/I-85 North split . Just about time you think you've seen everything, someone comes along and proves you wrong . And this from a guy who drove in Washington, DC traffic every day for 19 years .

Sorry we will miss y'all too. My wife's Uncle lives in the Conyers area. We've stayed with them several times during Atlanta NASCAR race week-end. We had planned on going on up to NC and visit friends but wife was begged (i.e., threatened) to work on Friday.

Funny you should mention Conyers. Last night, Cort wanted to know how far Conyers was from where we will be meeting. He wanted to go and see if they had anything from the Dukes of Hazzard TV show. Seems it was recorded there for a while. Other than being way out of his way, I don't know of a "tourist attraction" featuring the show.

Funny you should mention Conyers. Last night, Cort wanted to know how far Conyers was from where we will be meeting. He wanted to go and see if they had anything from the Dukes of Hazzard TV show. Seems it was recorded there for a while. Other than being way out of his way, I don't know of a "tourist attraction" featuring the show.

I'm not aware of a Dukes tourist attraction in Conyers either. Didn't know about the connection. I looked it up and the first few episodes were filmed in Conyers and Covington, but I couldn't find anything else.

Met Cort today . We both survived and had a ball . Me, my wife, Cort and four of his car buddies met over lunch in Atlanta. He is having a real good time and is enjoying meeting up with folks along the way. If you can give it a try. It is a most enjoyable experience. I've meet "face-to-face" with two of our family so far and we are planning on making one of the reunions (ON THE EAST COAST--HINT--HINT) soon . I've got pictures that I will post later, maybe under a new Thread.

Sorry you couldn't make it . So close yet so far. Cort survived his brush with Atlanta traffic, even making it through a gully washer that hit him just as he was reaching Atlanta . He said traffic got down to about 20 MPH for a while (you mean THEY actually slowed!!!!!!).

I didn't notice any beautiful women on the side of the road with their thumb out so guess you didn't make it . Of course, I did have my eyes closed most of the trip through downtown Atlanta . Guess you are stuck with Ross (or is it the other way around) . You will probably have to sit in the back of the truck with the 02 bottles instead. Ross, don't let her control the valve .

We cleared out all the traffic for your drive thru tomorrow night. Have fun with that crazy traffic and plan on keeping the gas all the way on the floor. Closing your eyes helps too . We are about ready for a grandchild spoiling too. Maybe Labor Day week-end.

Yeah, I know about the speed demons down there. My stepdaughter drove that way from the beginning I think (she started in Kentucky). She's a very natural Hotlantian.

We're also going to Myrtle Beach in September and the grandkids will be there also. Oh well, someone has to do it.

Glad you had a good time with Cort. Somehow I think it's almost impossible not to have a good time with him...he seems bent on it...in a good way, I mean.

You should be getting close to Conyers, Georgia by now. Bet you found out I lied about the traffic . The city that never sleeps. Hope y'all had an uneventful trip. Now go spoil, spoil them grandkids . You can always leave your mess behind .

We made at least one trip a year to Myrtle Beach when we lived in Maryland. We enjoyed it more because we could camp right next to the beach.

Two grandkids are in Brunswick, Georgia (about 4 hours away) and one is in St. Petersburg, Florida (about 6 to 7 hours away). We try to "drop in" as much as we can. The wife's job and my limited income (retired you know--of course you could consider her income "limited" too) prevent us from visiting as much as we would like . She is planning on retiring next year so (again depending on money) maybe we can travel more.

Cort is a great guy. When he reads this he will probably get a "big head" . I know how to take down a notch or two .

Just enough time to post an update of sorts ... wish I had time to "catch up" on the other threads/posts, but not possible right now. I probably will never really catch up....

I'm doing good ... have met a number of people thus far [and, sadly, even missed meeting a few people, too] and look forward to some upcoming gatherings in the next week or so.

Life is short ... just trying to "grab life" and meet as many people as I can along my way.... With that in mind, call me if you want to meet up with me. Several on here have my cell ph# ... including gadgetman (Danny), Steve, Rich, Ross (er, I think you have it, Ross), and many others. I'm sure one of them (or someone else even) would be able to send my cell# to you offline if you don't have it already....

Tonight, I'm at a hotel in Statesville NC ... 704-881-0111, RM # 105. I'll be heading out early in the morning for Bridgewater VA (lunch with some family friends) and then onto PA.

Highlights for the rest of the trip, in case you are interested:

FRI, AUG 12 ... Wexford PA cruise night ... at a church just before RT 910 RT 19 S. Coming from I-70 W, take RT 19 S ... and then if you cross RT 910, you've gone too far. I'm told it is a big ... can't miss ... cruise night.... I should arrive sometime between 7 and 8pm....key word "should"....

SUN, AUG 14 ... I'll be in Central NJ ... afternoon and evening. Heading across PA on I-76 E. Making some plans with NJ MCers! Steve R is working on details, I believe...

MON, AUG 15 ... heading to Alexandria VA to see family (route TBD)

TUE, AUG 16 ... heading to near Akron OH for the evening via I-270 W, I-70 W, I-68 W, I-79 N, I-70 W, I-77 N, RT 30 W, RT 585 N.

WED, AUG 17 ... heading to Detroit MI for the Michigan MC Cruise on Woodward ... hopefully will arrive in the early to mid evening hours. MI MCers will be congregating (iirc) at the Belle Tire parking lot (I-75 N, 12 mile Rd W bound exit, Woodward N, left lane past 13-mile turn left at first traffic light into Belle Tire Parking lot)...

THU, AUG 18 ... staying in Michigan 1 extra night.

FRI, AUG 19 ... heading to Indiana I-69 S, I-30 W. Lunch just west of Fort Wayne and then dinner in the Warsaw area....

I'll arrive home Saturday, Aug 20.

Well I finally got the stop sticks to work and got to meet Cort today! (Sorry bout the tires buddy! )

We got to sit and have an ice tea together and talk for about an hour before he had to move on to his next destination for this evening.

Cort, you run a tight schedule, that I think puts alot of unnecessary pressure on you, but I know you love it and wouldn't have it any other way. I was very happy, after 3 or 4 years of trying to meet you, to finally get to do just that. Hopefully, we can hook up sometime in the future. Thanks again for stopping.

I'm very glad I got to meet you in person finally! Seems like everytime I've come through Ohio...we haven't been able to meet up for whatever reason.... Glad that meeting finally happened!!!! I enjoyed the company, conversation, and tea! And, you're right...I wouldn't have the trip any other way...he he he.


I'm in Michigan now ... hoping to meet up with JimL and Rich sometime Thursday before heading to Indiana on Friday and then home Saturday. I'll post more about my trip when I get home this weekend....
