Hello all,

I wonder did any of you experience some minute leakage upto 1 month after surgery? Like after taking a shower and putting on some dressing you would notice a drop of yellowish red liquid oozing out? It has happened to me (just about stopped now) but only at the very top of the incision. As recently as yesterday I seemed to notice a small hole at the middle of the incision and it oozed out a small drop of reddish/yellow gooz when I squeezed the incision together. It normally does not happen unless I squeeze it together (not to smart) but because I noticed the little pen hole I thought I would chk if anything was inside.

Thanks for the help

Yes you'll leak somewhat, but I don't like the sound of yellowish. That tends to sound more like an infection getting started.

Yes it is kind of yellowish green in color. But it seems like it only oozes when I squeeze. I guess I am getting more and more comfortable and can move alot more so with all the stretching it opens a little hole. I just want it to be closed up.

thx

I think this one sounds like something to have checked. I had a small infection in my scar that I basically ignored. The surface closed up and I thought all was well. I ended up with a raging infection under the skin that required the scar being re-opened to clean up.

Please see your doctor.

Cory,
You might have a localized abscess in the incision area. The yellow-greenish color would indicate infection. I wouldn't wait for an appointment, I would see if you can't get in for someone to look at it.

It needs to drain; so if it closes up, you might end up in a situation like Geebee experienced.

Get it checked out - Jim had a similar thing at the bottom of his scar for a couple of months and it turned out to be infected. His doctor prescribed some antibiotic cream and it all healed up within 3 days of starting with the cream.

It is too late now but do not touch the incision. I did the exact samed thing pulling at the sutures that were trying to come out and I started the whole thing bleeding again, it lasted for some time but overall with no bad effect. Weel it may have made the scar a little worse. I was told not to put anything on the scar and over the course of a year it is slowly disapearing. best jd
