PROVIDENCE, R.I. Oscar the cat seems to have an uncanny knack for predicting when nursing home patients are going to die, by curling up next to them during their final hours. His accuracy, observed in 25 cases, has led the staff to call family members once he has chosen someone. It usually means they have less than four hours to live.

My cats are lap cats anyway but, when I am not feeling well, they will not leave me alone. They follow me around and sit with me whenever I sit or sleep next to me when I am in bed. They do sense when things are different.

I saw that on the news. Poor kitty, no one wants him to come visit.:(

This morning daughter picked up one of our fat cats and apparently picked her up at her lungs and an involuntary very strange noise erupted from the cat's throat. Miss SS was resting outside in her dug hole; she came running; one of our other cats who was also outside, came running. When one cat is in trouble they all appear out of nowhere, expressing concern for whatever is going on. Cats and dogs are very sensitive to many things. Their senses are far stronger than ours. They showed a cancer sniffing dog this morning on TV and the dog was right with six out of six sniffs.

This is really weird but I think animals sense things before we do. When I'm feeling really bad all three of my animals, two dogs and a cat follow me around. If I lay on our sofa the big dog will lay on the floor right next to me, the little dog will lay on the sofa with me at my feet and the cat will lay on the sofa back. Interesting to say the least! !

This might be another slant on this. Cats are predators and when hunting in the wild they always go for the weakest prey. I read somewhere that if our house cats weighed 40 pounds we would be in trouble:eek: Our sweet house cats are not too far away from their wild cousins.

I'm putting mine on a diet:p :p

Cooker has been thinking......

domestic cats will take down anything they can....but you want to see mine when she is trying to stalk a Canada Goose.....she is lurking along the hayfield edge, carefully placing each foot, focused intently on her prey, several minutes later she is in what she considers good range to rush in and reap her reward.....wait a minute.....time to reconsider.....that goose is the size of a dog......better stick to hunting barn swallows when you are a little house kitty.....
