Those x-rays belong to you.

Not exactly Lisa. A patient may have a COPY of anything in their chart including test results, x-rays, etc.. That is federal law. The x-rays really are property of the dentist. What we pay for as far as x-rays go it the expertise to read them.

With that said, a copy of the original x-ray must be available to the patient at a reasonable cost (cost of duplication). If the x-rays are digital...that should be $0.00 to the patient.

I made it through

I made it through

Well, I had my teeth extracted yesterday. I was supposed to be sedated but the doctor decided at the last minute not to knock me out. He said it was for my own safety. I was upset but luckily he waited to tell me until he already had me on nitrice oxide (sorry if that is spelled wrong). He had my teeth out very quickly and he was really nice. He told me he had his mitral valve repaired so he knew a bit of what I was going through and how difficult it can be with all the stress you face before surgery. I told him I was more scared of the dentist than having heart surgery. He laughed at me but I was about half serious. I am home and feeling better. My face was numb for about 8 hours after surgery and I couldn't drink anything which caused me to get dehydrated and pass out and scare the heck out of my family. I did get through it and was able to drink some water and eat jello which made me feel much better. Today I am just sore and a bit swollen. The dentist is going to fax a clearance to the surgeon?s office today so I am hoping to schedule my OHS tomorrow. Thanks for everyone?s response and support.
