Dennis S and his wife Barb invited Ann and I to visit their home near Jemez Springs, New Mexico. Since we are only 380 miles apart, we are nearly neighbors in the Colorado - New Mexico area! We had a great time. This was taken at sunrise this morning.

There is a lot to write about this evening. Al Lodwick and his wife Ann found their way to our place in New Mexico. As I mentioned to Al, I felt like I was meeting the Wizard of Oz. With the major exception that this wizard totally lived up to my high expectations.

Al is every bit as smart and generous as I thought he would be. And he is an exceptional photographer. Al, I hope you might be in the mood to share a couple of the great pictures you took. P.S. Al has a camera that made my knees weak.

Maybe I will have a chance to write more about this visit, but I had an extraordinary day at a Memorial day ceremony, and I want to bang out some kind of posting in the small talk forum about that experience. I hope to have time to do it tonight.

I've always said it is cool to meet members ... glad you both were able to meet up!

And, Dennis, I see you joined us in June 2005 ... just a few short months (OK, almost a year) after I was out west in October 2004, as part of the VR.com Reunion that was in Golden CO that year. I stayed with a friend (who moved to Kansas a couple months after I was there ... and just recently died) just west of Albq.

When I first joined VR, there was one reunion per year. Now, since we have a bunch more members, there are quite a few mini reunions throughout the year all over the country. That is great. Bonnie and I got together 2-3 yrs ago. We are doing it again in a couple weeks, along with Bubba and Mary.

So, Al, more pictures? This one was really good - such a lovely place.

Yesterday was the first day of the new school year, so I had three students doing their first day of their first clinical experience, so when I got home about all I felt like doing was watching the Rockies lose.
