CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR RETIREMENT
CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR RETIREMENT
Hi, Barbara! It's too bad your retirement has to be colored with concern about your surgery. I hope you have a wonderful, silly, carefree day and everyone at work comes to cry on your shoulder.
Do check the good suggestions on older threads around this site. You'll have 10 days to do some pretty neat things.
Besides spending, eating and drinking are also good. It's a sad-but-true factoid that nearly everyone's sense of taste is affected for varying periods (mine was nearly 6 weeks) after this surgery. So you might as well splurge for the next week and eat everything you like. One advantage you'll have is lots of fresh fruit being available (fruit is the one thing that seems to taste good to everyone; mostly everything else tastes like dirt).
Anyway, I do envy you your retirement; I have to work another year to retire. Oh, wait - make that 11 months (but who's counting? ) Make sure you pack your worry about the surgery away and enjoy the day!
