I was told when I left the hospital to "keep ahead of the pain"
I was told when I left the hospital to "keep ahead of the pain"
I was 8 days post op at the time, and on Oxycodone IIRC. I was taking one pill in the AM and one in the PM, and I don't remember how long they lasted, but when I asked for more of them, they wouldn't give me a refill, because they said it was a habit forming drug, and I should just use extra strength Tylenol.
I was not abusing them by any stretch of the imagination. They did not give me a "high" at all, just took the edge off of the pain in my chest. Had I known I was not going to be able to get a refill, I would have taken the Tylenoll in the mornings and saved the pain killers for night time, when the chest discomfort made it difficult to sleep for quite some time.
